The Island Players have been performing live theatre since 1956. Made up of actors young and old, this oldest community theatre in the Golden Isles is committed to bringing the stage alive with a variety of shows. Currently playing shows of their annual five productions are “Enchanted April” by Matthew Barber May 15-17, 22-24, 29-31st, 2009. The Young Peoples Summer Workshop play for this year is "Abner Twitch from Chitlin' Switch" and the production dates are July 15-July 26 (Wed - Sundays with two performances on Saturdays). Residents and part-time residents alike are invited to not only attend these performances but also audition, or work on the production teams.
