“Where vacation is a state of mind,” Indigo Coastal Shanty’s rich history of success in the business, started its legacy as Indigo’s in Atlanta’s Five Points region through to the developers of the original Cargo Portside Grill in Downtown Brunswick. Kate Buchanan, second generation restaurateur, has created an assortment of dishes from Jerk Chicken to Mediterranean Fisherman’s Bowl, with fresh local catches daily. Set in the ambiance of a small “coastal shanty” atmosphere with affordable prices, they’re open for lunch Tuesday through Friday, Lunch and Dinner Fridays, and Dinner only on Saturdays. Located at the end of the St. Simons Island Causeway on the corner of Hwy. 17 and Stacy Street, this restaurant is decorated in the fun style of a century turning “shak” and has been adorned with found art from the Golden Isles giving you a laid back attitude feel. Oysters delivered daily from Apalachiacola, Florida, and only Wild Georgia Shrimp. Watch as oysters are shucked behind the hand crafted bar. Burgers, steaks, and great big salads available too. Mon thru Fri 11am to 2am, noon to 2am Sat, and 12 to 12 on Sun.
